Visioni Necessarie
The exhibition "Visioni necessarie" offers a broad overview of contemporary Italian photography created by women, bringing together more than 60 works by 32 female photographers that include both rediscovered works and recent acquisitions. Under the curatorship of Chiara Dall'Olio and Daniele De Luigi, the exhibition itinerary explores a variety of approaches and themes, ranging from signature portraits to social critique, up to the evolution of urban spaces and artistic performances.
The project is realized thanks to the support of the Ministry of Culture, through the General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity and the PAC2025 (Plan for Contemporary Art). The objective of this initiative is twofold: on the one hand, to rebalance and enrich the history of photography in Italy - a narrative historically dominated by male figures - and, on the other hand, to fill a specific gap within the art collections of the city of Modena.
