Xian Kim reimagines familiar creatures and objects by reconstructing them with textures reminiscent of plastic. She approaches her work with the intent to focus solely on their essence, stripping away the surface elements that accumulate in the course of daily life. The creatures and objects reimagined as still life carry no particular emotional warmth, yet they reveal forms that are objective, simple, and at times, candid.
