La Quadriennale di Roma: Fantastica

P420 is proud to announce the participation of Adelaide Cioni and Shafei Xia in Fantastica, the 18th Quadriennale di Roma, taking place at Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome.

Invited by curator Francesco Stocchi for the section Senza titolo, Adelaide Cioni (Bologna, 1976) presents a brand-new project conceived specifically for the exhibition. The artist proposes an immersive journey in which the environment unfolds as a single vision, populated by geometric, organic, and archetypal forms, amidst suspended elements, vertical lawns, recurring symbols, and non-human presences. Through materials such as fabric, plaster, and wood, Cioni engages with the architecture, enhancing its perspectives and lengths in a continuous perceptual interplay that transforms the usual configuration of the space. Her work, drawing on influences ranging from art history to the theatre of the absurd via mystical visions, takes the form of an enveloping and surprising space, leading the visitor beyond the ordinary into a poetic and liberating dimension.

Alongside her, Shafei Xia has been invited by curator Francesco Bonami to present her work within the section Memoria piena. Una stanza solo per sé. In this area conceived as a tribute to creative autonomy, Xia introduces her unique compositional language, enriching the narrative of the exhibition and entering into an intense dialogue with the multifaceted nature of the Quadriennale.
